Patterns in yarn, wood, steel and stone

In his sculptures in wood and metal, Filipe Tohi aims to create patterns that change with the perspective of the viewer. He wants each sculpture to be a matrix which permits the discovery of a variety of patterns. In the spaces and  joints between the lines that make up his sculptures, he gives the viewer the chance to discover new patterns, as he himself has done through his study of lashing.
